چکیده

There have been continual attempts to identify alternatives increase the agricultural output improve living standards of farmers, meet current demand, and promote sustainability in commercial agriculture. Within this paradigm, low-temperature plasma (LTP) treatments piqued attention investigators are presently being extensively researched agriculture sector. A preliminary study was conducted on mustard seeds (Brassica nigra) examine potential LTP enhance germination productivity. The were subjected treatment for 1 4 min an argon environment (11.7 kV, 50 Hz, Q = 3 L/min) at atmospheric pressure. growth parameters untreated treated calculated 16th day seeds’ compared. All growth-related found be improved LTP-exposed up min. However, deteriorated 4-min LTP-treated compared those control other time seeds. water contact angle scanning electron micrograph images clearly indicated that there is a significant change seed coat after exposed specific period. seed’s texture significantly rougher than control, which directly related hydrophilicity findings suggest using suitable results considerable percentage sown while also hastening seedling development.

Surface Decontamination by Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma

Background: Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), a source of non-thermal plasma, is used in surface decontamination. Objective: To study the effect of DBD plasma treatment, we evaluated the effect of plasma exposure time on inactivation of Bacillus subtilis. Results: Applying the DBD plasma to the culture of B. subtilis caused complete sterilization of the surface without any thermal effects. In...

Reel-to-Reel Atmospheric Pressure Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) Plasma Treatment of Polypropylene Films

Atmospheric pressure plasma treatment of the surface of a polypropylene film can significantly increase its surface energy and, thereby improve the printability of the film. A laboratory-scale dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system has therefore been developed, which simulates the electrode configuration and reel-to-reel web transport mechanism used in a typical industrial-scale system. By t...
